Two-time Indianapolis Player of the Year Dezmon Briscoe announced his commitment to the University of Iowa men’s basketball program Friday morning. The Crispus Attucks High forward also reported scholarship offers from Butler, Cincinnati, West Virginia, DePaul and others.
Briscoe (6-8, 220) joined South Kent (CT) School big man Badara Diakite (6-10, 190) in the Hawkeyes’ 2025 recruiting class. Diakite reported offers from Boston College, Penn State and Washington.
Crispus Attucks coach Chris Hawkins told the Indianapolis Star that Briscoe was the heart and soul of the program during the last four years, describing him as a face-up four that can play inside or out.” The Hawkeye covet that type of versatility.
As has been the case throughout Fran McCaffery’s tenure as Iowa’s head coach, the Hawkeyes identified Briscoe early in the recruiting process. They were the first Power 4 school to offer him a scholarship back in March of 2023. They then built a relationship and closed the deal.
