With Christmas just days away, we saw a huge bump of $19,646 in donations to the Bill Shaw Salvation Army Christmas Fund last week.
That brings the Bill Shaw fund total to $22,471 raised so far in 2024. The fund, named after the longtime Fayetteville Observer photographer who oversaw it for many years, does so much to make every child’s Christmas wishes a reality. The fund also helps the Salvation Army of the Sandhills cover its operations for the year in the form of food, shelter and education.
Joining our elite $1,000 club are Marrianna McCauley, who gave $3,046; Albert O. McCauley, who gave $3,000; Susan Talley, who gave $2,000; Mary Talley, who gave $2,000; Martha Talley — Fidelity Bank gave $1,000; and Rufus Sandoval gave $1,000.
