It has been a fascinating, and misty unfortunate ride for former Michigan and Oklahoma wide receiver Andrel Anthony Jr. An extremely talented pass catcher, Anthony has had issues dealing with a long list of injuries during the course of his college career. That has led him back to the transfer portal for the season time, announcing a commitment to the Duke Blue Devils on Thursday.
Known for his speed and big play ability, Anthony began his Michigan career with a lot of promise. During the 2021 season, he hauled in just 12 receptions but it went for 248 yards and three touchdowns. His 20.7 yards per reception average led the Wolverines that season.
After an underutilized and injury-plagued season in 2022, Anthony opted to enter the transfer portal. The demand for the speedster was high, eventually landing with the Sooners over a long list of potential suitors. Once again, he flashed his big play ability early on. In just six games in 2023, Anthony hauled in 27 receptions for 429 yards and a touchdown.
