HONOLULU (KHON2) — Investigators from the NTSB arrived in Honolulu and provided an update on what they will look at during the investigation of Tuesdayʻs plane crash.

What the NTSB knows is that it was a training flight, with one pilot training the other.
The flight took off on runway 4L and typically planes turn to the right. Video evidence shows that did not happen. The air traffic controller questioned the pilot and the pilot reported mechanical issues with their controls shortly after taking off, according to NTSB Alaska Regional Chief Clint Johnson.
The plane crashed into the building shortly after.
Preston Kaluhiwa, 26, and Hiram Defries, 22, both died in the crash.

Because the building is structurally compromised from the crash, the NTSB said they are working with local partners to collect all the parts and evidence as some parts are on the roof of the building and some on the ground.
