( KRON ) — Two instances of gunfire in Berkeley on Thursday morning are under investigation by the Berkeley Police Department. Authorities have not yet determined if the two shootings are related.
Police first responded to a report of gunfire just after midnight on the 3100 block of Ellis Street. Officers did not locate any victims or suspects, authorities said, and it was later determined that the shooting occurred about a block away in the area of Woolsey and Harper streets.

More reports of gunfire came at 9:50 a.m. on Adeline Street, south of Fairview Street, according to Berkeley PD. Witnesses told officers that they saw a man with a face covering and dark clothing running away from the scene after the shooting. No victims were located.
The police department said that both shootings remain under investigation.
