Coroner identifies man killed in Anderson Co. camper fire

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Officials released the identity Friday of a man found dead in a camper fire in Anderson County.

The fire broke out early Monday morning in a camper at the corner of Woodvale Road and Woodmont Circle.

It took firefighters nearly an hour to contain the fire. After the fire was extinguished, a man’s body was found in the camper.

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as 51-year-old Jimmy Dale Kelley, Jr. of Anderson.

The coroner said they were able to use DNA to make the identification.

No other injuries were reported in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the coroner’s office, Anderson County Fire Department, and Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
