An effort has been launched to provide support for the family of a 72-year-old woman killed by a driver outside Knollwood Mall.
Debra Cizinski, 72, of Minneapolis , was running holiday errands when she was struck in the parking lot of the St. Louis Park. She suffered multiple blunt force injuries and despite lifesaving efforts from police and fire responders, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A GoFundMe has since been created for Cizinski’s family, who are raising funds for her funeral arrangements, medical bills, and legal costs.
“It is with heavy hearts that we come together to honor Deb and help ease the financial stress on her family,” the GoFundMe reads. “Deb was not only a beloved Minneapolis community member but also a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and neighbor who touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity.”
The Minnesota Star Tribune reports that the 82-year-old driver behind the wheel of the car that struck Cizinski cooperated with St. Louis Park police and said she was talking to someone over Bluetooth while in the parking lot in her car.
