Party City to close all stores after 40 years in business

Party City is closing down all of its stores, ending nearly 40 years in business, according to CNN.

According to the report, CEO Barry Litwin told corporate employees Friday in a meeting that New Jersey-based Party City is “winding down” operations immediately and that today will be their last day of employment. Staff were told they would not receive severance pay and that their benefits would end as the company goes out of business.

Party City has 11 metro Orlando locations spanning Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake, Brevard and Volusia counties. The company’s stores will shutter Feb. 1, 2025, according to CNN .
