NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Each month, Metro’s Office of Homeless Services ( OHS ) tracks the number of people who are unhoused in Nashville so officials can get a better sense on how to help those experiencing homelessness.
The report from Nov. 2024 showed 3,082 people experienced homelessness in Nashville during that month. Of that, 9% were veterans and nearly half were people experiencing chronic homelessness. That number represented a very slight increase over data from Nov. 2023, which counted 3,037 individuals as experiencing homelessness during that month.

November’s data also indicates a decrease from data collected during Jan. 2024, which counted 3,663 people as experiencing homelessness during that month. OHS officials said they have new ways to collect data about how many people are living in shelters. That new data collection, officials added, will better help them figure out where to focus their efforts moving forward.
