The Queen Creek Police Department has released the results of its recent shoplifting operation.
The operation, held in partnership with local retailers over five days, targeted high-traffic retail areas and resulted in numerous arrests, according to a town press release.
“Shoplifting is a crime that impacts businesses, increases consumer costs, diminishes the shopping experience, and undermines the well-being of our community,” Queen Creek Chief of Police Randy Brice stated in the release.
On Nov. 26-30, QCPD conducted surveillance, monitored retail locations and worked with asset protection teams to identify and arrest shoplifting suspects.
Results of shoplifting operation include:
- Recovering merchandise worth $14,380
- 17 arrests
- Multiple felony charges, including secondary drug-related offenses
“This operation would not have been possible without the joint effort of the retail asset protection teams. By working together, we will reduce theft and hold those responsible accountable,” Brice stated. “As I have said before, no community is immune from crime — but we can work together to stop these crimes in our community and show criminals this will not be tolerated in Queen Creek.”
