Woodbury’s La Vie Boutique to close amid eviction lawsuit

La Vie Boutique, a staple of Woodbury’s Tamarack Village shopping center for nearly two decades, will close its doors in January amid an eviction lawsuit.

Owners Dan and Karen Runze announced on Facebook that the boutique will close in mid-January.

“For the past 20 years, as our customers’ tastes changed, we have evolved into La Vie Boutique. La Vie Boutique brought a wider range of gifts and fashion that shared the same dedication to quality that was our hallmark,” the announced reads. “It is time for a new chapter for us. It is time for us to rediscover hobbies and to spend more time with friends and family both near and far.”

Amidst its closure, the boutique also faces an eviction lawsuit from its Woodbury landlord. The suit was filed in Washington County District Court on Dec. 13 against PCR Groups, which is doing business as Collectors Gallery and La Vie.

The shopping center alleges that PCR Groups Inc. has failed to pay rent since October and owes $44,711.30 in unpaid rent.

According to the social media post, the Runzes opened as the Collector’s Gallery store in Maplewood Mall in 1981 and moved their storefront to the Tamarack Center in 1996.
