Looking ahead to the warm summer months, Springfield Township is hard at work to ensure its Summer Series 2025 is a hit among the community.
A set of three outdoor events, scheduled for June, August, and September, was officially announced Tuesday evening at the township’s Board of Trustees meeting.
The programs include the annual Freedom Celebration, Wicked Wheels Car Fest, and 419MusicFest, with expanded offerings for the coming year.
Board president Andy Glenn said Springfield Township is one of the most unique jurisdictions in Lucas County, both because of its diversity and its public amenities.
“Really, what we’re trying to do with these events is to get the community involved, come out, and just see what you have available to you,” the trustee said. “We’re very proud of it. We want all them to be part of it.”
Township leaders were inspired to expand their event offerings for residents after the success of their 17 different programs leading up to the April 8 total solar eclipse. The community was then eager for more learning and entertainment opportunities, organizers said, so the trustees decided to enhance their already successful programs during the summer and are keeping up that momentum for the upcoming season.
