JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Ryan Lutrario loves Christmas — so much so that he annually dons his Johnston home with 30,000 holiday lights and more than 100 figurines.
“It’s the most asked question,” Lutrario said, referring to how many lights and figurines he has.
By day, Lutrario works as an attorney at Savage Law Partners in Providence. But at night, he’s the keeper of his own winter wonderland.
Lutrario said he loves putting up the lights each year.
“You would think it’s a lot of work and takes a lot of time, but I would say it’s as much fun as seeing it all lit up,” he said.
Though it used to take him 90 hours to do it all by himself, Lutrario said he’s since cut that down significantly by asking friends and family for help. It now takes him three to four weekends to decorate his Birchtree Drive home, with four or five of his loved ones pitching in each time.
Lutrario told 12 News he bought the home he grew up in from his parents, who retired to California.
His father, Ronald Lutrario, first began decorating the home for the holidays back in the 1980s. Ryan said his dad’s decorations became so popular that WPRO radio began giving listeners directions on how to get there.
