ATLANTA A 34-year-old man was hospitalized Friday evening after being shot during an altercation in northwest Atlanta, according to police.

It happened at 891 Rock St. NW near Joseph E. Boone Boulevard around 5:06 p.m. following a report of a shooting. According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, who was described as alert, conscious, and breathing, was transported to a hospital by ambulance.
