I-24 westbound lanes in Smyrna reopened after crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A portion of Interstate 24 is closed after a crash involving multiple vehicles in Rutherford County.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the crash was reported on Saturday around 4:42 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-24 near mile marker 70.

The westbound lanes remained closed by officials as the investigators worked the scene.

As of 7:15 a.m. Saturday, the portion of the interstate remained closed. Traffic was diverted onto the off-ramp leading to Almaville Road and back onto I-24.

The road was reopened just after 9 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the crash at this time.
