Coachella Woman’s Death Deemed a Homicide, Suspect Charged

Tragedy struck on Halloween in Coachella, as first responders to a brush fire discovered a dire scene-a woman severely burned. She was later identified as 43-year-old Arlene Danielle Avila, a Coachella resident, and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has now determined that her tragic passing was the result of a homicide, according to a report from their office. The call to Thermal Sheriff’s Station deputies came at 12:17 a.m., to the 51000 block of Cesar Chavez Street, and Avila, having sustained significant burns, was air-lifted for urgent care, yet she did not survive her injuries.
