Local sales tax collections in New York increased by 3.0% in November compared to the same month in 2023, according to data released this week by State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. Overall, local collections totaled $1.86 billion for the month, up $53 million year over year, with New York City accounting for 61.5% of that increase. Chautauqua County collected $6.85 million in November, which is 1.9% less compared to November 2023. The data finds that 35 out of the 57 counties outside New York City experienced year-over-year increases.
