(KRON) — The South San Francisco Police Department said it is investigating an incident of an adult trespasser at South San Francisco High School which placed the school on “secure campus status” temporary lockdown on Friday afternoon.
Police said the scene is now under control and there is no immediate threat to students and staff.
South San Francisco High School confirmed that officials moved quickly and cautiously after they discovered an unidentified adult trespasser had scaled a fence and went to a classroom. The school confirmed students in the class were taken to a different location, while police were immediately made aware of the situation.
Officials said the school’s doors were locked and entering and leaving the campus was restricted during the safety protocol. Investigators said the person was arrested a short time later.
Police said the secure campus status went past the end of the regular school day which delayed students going home.
