4 arrested after break-in at vacant Lee Township home

LEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Four people were arrested following a break-in at a vacant home in Lee Township on Friday.

Just before 4 p.m., deputies with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the area of M Drive North near 20 1/2 Mile Road after receiving reports about a breaking and entering at a vacant home.

A deputy who was in the area quickly responded and saw a male, his age hasn’t been released, running into the woods. Three other people were found in a vehicle on the property and were arrested.

The sheriff’s office said that a police dog was called to the scene to find the fourth person. He was eventually found after about 40 minutes and was arrested.

Three of the people who were arrested displayed symptoms that were consistent with drug usage and admitted to taking drugs, the sheriff’s office said. They were treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital for treatment.

A child who was arrested was released to their parent, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office said that charges are being submitted to the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office.
