Tragic Crash in Brazil
In the early hours of Saturday, a passenger bus and a truck collided on a highway in Minas Gerais, Brazil, resulting in the deaths of 38 people. Thirteen others were injured and transported to nearby hospitals.
The bus was reportedly carrying 45 passengers from Sao Paulo. Witnesses claimed that a tire burst, causing the bus to swerve and strike the truck.
Another account suggested that a granite block crashed into the bus. A third vehicle, carrying three passengers, was also involved in the collision, but fortunately, all survived.
Governor Romeu Zema expressed his condolences and ordered the mobilization of state resources to aid the victims. He emphasized the importance of supporting families during this difficult time, especially with Christmas approaching.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Transportation, over 10,000 individuals lost their lives in traffic accidents in 2024. This latest crash serves as a somber reminder of the dangers present on the country’s roadways.
