Back home: Former UCF LB Xe’Ree Alexander Commits to Washington

Even though college football programs can’t trade players, the University of Washington and Central Florida have each swapped players in the transfer portal, with Knights’ sophomore linebacker Xe’Ree Alexander headed back home to Seattle to play for the Huskies and coach Jedd Fisch.

The 6-foot-2, 223-pound Kennedy Catholic product made his decision official on Saturday confirming the news through social media.

After starting his college career at Idaho in 2023 the Auburn, Wash., native moved across the county to UCF this past season where he played in 12 games (7 starts) and recorded 68 total tackles, 6 tackles for loss and 2 passes defenses for the Big 12 program.

Following the departure of freshman linebacker Khmori House to North Carolina and both senior starters Carson Bruener and Alphonzo Tuputala set to be out of eligibility after the Sun Bowl on Dec. 31, the Huskies have a need to bring in at least two if not three linebackers in the portal before the start of the 2025 season.
