FIRE DEPARTMENT HIRES: ‘It’s a step in the right direction’

ENGLEWOOD — Englewood Fire District added a new fire inspector to its team as well as some certified engineers.

Ed Kosakowski joined the EFD family Monday. He is a retired captain from Syracuse, New York.

“He comes to us with a wealth of information and knowledge,” EFD Fire Chief Kevin Easton said during a fire board meeting. “He’s going to be our second inspector, working with Fire Marshal (Kyle) Brooks, so we’re happy to have him on board.”

Brooks heads the department’s community risk reduction. Kosakowski will be helping Brooks with fire inspections, transient public lodging establishments, public education, fire investigation, fire safety and more.

In addition to Kosakowski, Easton promoted six new captain positions and five certified engineers.

Kemerer will be heading up EFD training.
