PSP: Sobriety checkpoints announced for New Year’s holiday in Erie County

( WJET/WFXP ) – In an effort to prevent drinking and driving on roadways for the holiday season, the Pennsylvania State Police has announced upcoming sobriety checkpoints and roving patrols.

According to PSP in Girard, the checkpoints and patrols will happen between Dec. 30 to Jan. 2 at various undisclosed times and locations.

Police are also reminding the public if they plan on going out to drink to designate a sober driver or call a rideshare service.
