A fast-moving cold front has brought rain to the Pacific Northwest this morning, moving inland quicker than expected. By 9:30 AM, the front had already crossed the southern coast and the eastern Lane County foothills, with rain continuing to spread eastward, particularly over the Cascades. Scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, mainly along the coast and offshore. Wind gusts up to 65 mph are impacting the Columbia River Gorge. Another round of rain will hit on Sunday, followed by a wet and breezy Christmas Day, with rain continuing through Friday. Snow levels will fluctuate, possibly dropping to 4500 feet.
