NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A social outreach of the Episcopal church gave hundreds of meals out to seniors on Saturday for a delicious Christmas dinner.
It’s not what you’d expect a U-Haul to be carrying, but inside each box is a chance for a senior in central Arkansas to spend the holidays with a full stomach and happy heart.
Is the inflation in viral posts featuring ‘Home Alone’ grocery list scene accurate?
A Christmas dinner was given by St Francis House to seniors at different locations in the area.
Quadel Muslem is one of those who received a meal at Willow House in North Little Rock. He says this box of food is so much more.
“It kind of makes a fulfillment and happiness getting in the spirit of giving during Christmas time,” Muslem said.
Linda King is the outreach coordinator at St Francis and said they can deliver 600-700 boxes in one morning.
“We set up an assembly line, we have all the boxes packed, we have three U-hauls running,” King said. “And as soon as one’s loaded it heads out.”
