Former Minnesota Twins first baseman Carlos Santana has signed a one-year deal to join the Cleveland Guardians in 2025, according to multiple reports.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan says the deal is worth $12 million, pending a physical.
The Guardians also traded first baseman Josh Naylor to the Arizona Diamondbacks as they bring Santana back for a third stint with the franchise.

Santana also spent time with Cleveland from 2010-17, his first years in the MLB, and 2019-20.
The 38-year-old played his lone season with Minnesota in 2024, winning a Gold Glove award for the first time in his 15-season career. He slashed a line of .238/.328/.420 and an OPS of .749, hitting 23 home runs and driving in 71 batting in 71 runs.
Across his playing career, Santana has a slash line of .242/.431/.785 with 324 homers and 1,082 RBI.
Santana is another Twins free agent who has already signed with another team, joining Max Kepler and Kyle Farmer.
