Above average temperatures expected through Christmas as rain chances return Christmas Night

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Today was a warmer day that Friday, but depending on where you were determines how much warmer. Temperatures in the Tri-Cities warmed into the low 40’s this afternoon. Areas in north central and northeastern Kansas, as well as eastern Nebraska struggled to get out of the upper 30’s. Western portions of the viewing area, including North Platte and McCook saw temperatures reach the mid 50’s as the 60’s were reached just to the west of them. Temperatures tonight staying milder than we’ve seen the past couple of nights in the mid to upper 20’s as some patchy cloud cover builds in overnight tonight. Tomorrow looks to be the warmest day of the week as all of the viewing area will reach the 50’s, and areas to the west of the Tri-Cities could see the 60’s. Temperatures in the Tri-Cities look to stay in the mid to upper 50’s, and mid 50’s in Lincoln. Breezy conditions also return tomorrow as winds are expected around 10 to 20 miles per hour during early portions of the afternoon.
