Sonoma County in need of volunteers to count local homeless on January 31

Sonoma County is looking for volunteers to do a visual head count of local homeless people on January 31. Those interested can register online.

Volunteers will work in groups from 5:00 am to 10:00 am. They will meet with fellow team members before walking or driving along an assigned route. Volunteers with a vehicle are asked to bring it to the activity.

“The Count is a requirement for receiving federal homeless assistance funds and provides critical data used to understand homelessness locally and to support strategic decisions about our programs,” the county said. The results of the 2024 count are available online.
