Meet Paulette, a resilient 4-year-old bully breed who has overcome tremendous obstacles and is now searching for her forever home through Sandy Paws Rescue in Massachusetts. According to the rescue organization, she weighs 40 pounds and possesses “a heart as big as her adorable little frame.” After going through so much in her short life, Paulette is now hoping to find a family just in time for the New Year.
Paulette’s journey began with a heartbreaking discovery in Texas, where Sandy Paws Rescue reports she was found abandoned. “She was found locked in a crate in the scorching Texas heat, nearly starved to death, and later confiscated by authorities,” explains Sandy Paws Rescue. After being rescued by authorities, she underwent FHO surgery and has made a fantastic recovery.
Despite her challenging past, the rescue describes Paulette as a “gentle, affectionate soul” who particularly enjoys the company of children. They note that she has successfully adapted to living with both dogs and cats in her foster home, though she would thrive either as an only pet or with other low-energy canine companions.
