Corpus Christi police seek suspect in early morning home invasion

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A woman was startled awake by an unknown man in her bedroom on December 17, 2024, leading to a violent encounter that ended with the suspect fleeing the scene. The incident occurred on the 5900 block of Weber Road, according to a press release from the Corpus Christi Police Department. The victim, who sustained minor injuries, described the attacker as a dark-skinned Hispanic or possibly Black male, approximately 5’8″ to 5’11” tall, with a medium build and clean-shaven appearance. He was reportedly wearing a red or maroon ball cap, a black hooded sweatshirt, and black pants. The suspect was last seen running northbound toward a nearby apartment complex. The Corpus Christi Police Department has increased patrols in the area and is actively investigating the incident. Detectives believe the suspect entered the apartment through an unlocked sliding glass door on the second floor. A composite sketch of the suspect has been created, and the public is urged to assist in identifying him.
