The Kansas City Chiefs moved to 14-1 on the year after a 27-19 win over the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium in a game that finally saw receiver Marquise Brown suit up.
Having missed the entire season due to injury, it was fans’ first look at Brown in a Chiefs uniform with proper regular-season bullets flying…and he didn’t disappoint.
Brown would have eight targets with five receptions for 45 yards in what was a very respectable first game of the season, and it shows what he can bring to this Chiefs offense.
But how did Patrick Mahomes think his new weapon fared?
“I thought he did a great job,” Mahomes said . “I missed him here and there on a couple throws, but I thought he was getting open, he was winning against man coverage which is huge and he’s a couple throws away from having a really big game. So just getting him in there and getting the football in his hands and getting where he can feel confident and running through tackles. I thought he did a great job of that, and we’ll get him involved more and more as the season goes on.”
