LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The work of Operation Making a Change (OMAC) is a gift that keeps on giving all year long through violence prevention and intervention.
“We work with our youth in our Fayette County Public Schools, we do after-school programs, and we work inside our Fayette County Detention Centers as reentry to help our inmates come home and be more productive,” Gerald “Geo” Gibson, founder of OMAC, said.
For the second year in a row, OMAC gave out gifts to kids and adults on the nice list.
“This is a safe place,” Gibson said. “We are here to give back, which we love to do; that’s what we do. So, every kid will get a Christmas gift, so they don’t have to worry about that. We’re blessing our families with school cards, gas cards, stuff like that.”

OMAC has a mission to empower children to build a better and brighter tomorrow.
Elijah Brank is someone who sees the value in that mission.
“Being raised up in foster care and being in prison for 12 years has woken me up a lot,” Brank said.
