The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Jameel Demestrice Florence, 46, and Royan Boclair, 63, both of Miami, in connection with a multiagency State Assistance for Fentanyl Eradication (SAFE) investigation. Florence is charged with possession of fentanyl, while Boclair faces charges of possession of fentanyl and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
The arrests stemmed from an investigation that began in October when FDLE agents received information regarding a house in southwest Miami-Dade County being used for drug-related activities, specifically the sale of fentanyl.
On December 11, 2024, FDLE and the SAFE Task Force, assisted by the Miami-Dade Police Department, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Florida Highway Patrol, executed a search warrant at the property. Agents seized several grams of fentanyl, cocaine, and other narcotics, along with a firearm.
Florence and Boclair were booked into the Turner Guilford Knight (TGK) Detention Center. The FDLE Miami SAFE Task Force continues to investigate the case, with prosecution being handled by the Office of the State Attorney, 11th Judicial Circuit.
