HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Officials with the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office say a new scam is going around Gibson County.
In a post to Facebook, the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says a person claiming to be Sgt John Fischer will call a victim and claim there is an urgent matter that needs to be taken care of, then they ask the victim to call the non emergency number.
Officials say the non-emergency number the scammer will ask the victim to call is not the actual Gibson County non-emergency number. the actual non-emergency number is 812-385-3496.
A suspect has not yet been identified.
