Luke Shepardson, the defending champ of The Eddie, caught his first wave of the contest as heat one wrapped up.
The commentators loved it and Luke said it was one of his favorite rides.
Shepardsonʻs score for the wave in heat 1 was later announced as a 45.5 out of 50.
