NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WJAR) – Crews from several Rhode Island towns battled a large house fire in North Smithfield Sunday afternoon. Around 3:55 p.m., North Smithfield firefighters were alerted to a structure fire at a home on Eddie Dowling Highway. Shortly after firefighters arrived on scene, they called for a second alarm.
