If author Sarah Penner had gone to a séance five years ago and asked to see her future, the psychic medium might have said: “You’re looking at it, my dear.”
Since then, Penner’s pivot from the world of finance to writer of occult-themed books like “The Lost Apothecary” and “The London Séance Society” has turned out very well.
On Jan. 23, Penner will be guest speaker for the first of two author luncheons hosted by the Friends of the Bonita Springs Library . A ticket to Penner’s event includes a copy of “The London Séance Society.”
The author luncheons — which raise money and awareness for the Bonita Springs Public Library — will be held at the Audubon Country Club in North Naples. (See the information box for details on how to purchase tickets, which include a three-course lunch. Registration is recommended by Jan. 12.)
Penner’s ‘The Amalfi Curse’ publishes in April
For the Friends’ second luncheon, on Feb. 27, the guest author will be Gregg Hurwitz, the New York Times best-selling writer of the Orphan X thriller series, as well as more than a dozen stand-alone novels.
