Party City , the largest party supply store in the United States, announced Dec. 20 that it is closing all stores, ending nearly 40 years in business. The New Jersey-based company had declared bankruptcy in January 2023 but exited proceedings a month after the arrival of its newest CEO. The two Party City locations in the Richmond area – 9130 West Broad Street in Henrico and 12741 Stone Village Way in Midlothian – are not affected, however, and will remain open, according to a report from WTVR CBS 6 . The stores are independent franchise locations and are locally owned and operated. They will no longer be affiliated with the Party City chain.
