Former Polk School Board Member Lori Cunningham is expected to attend a hearing in January after a settlement conference earlier this month failed to resolve an ethics complaint against her over the selling of mandatory uniforms to the Lake Wales Charter Schools while serving on the School Board.
The Lake Wales charter district is not overseen by the Polk School Board. But the state Ethics Commission had found probable cause in January that Cunningham violated standards when a company she owns soldĀ the uniforms at two schools within the charter system.
The commission also found there was no probable cause that her company sold uniforms to a school within the Polk County Public School district, according to a Jan. 31 news release from the commission.
Cunningham, who served on the School Board for about 20 years until deciding not to run again during the November election, owns and runs a company founded in 2011 called Applied Images Inc. It sews logos onto uniforms and other apparel for a variety of organizations, commission documents showed.
