AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — All Nolan Bailey wants for his 8th birthday is to give back. And that’s exactly what he did this weekend.
Nolan turns 8 years-old Christmas Eve. When his parents asked what he wanted for his birthday, he said he wanted money to help a local animal shelter.
So they helped their son collect nearly $700 to buy toys and food for the dogs and cats at One of a Kind Pet Rescue in Akron.
Nolan filled a cart Saturday and dropped off the load of kindness at the shelter on Sunday.
“I think it’s really cool that he’s only 7-years-old and already has that much compassion for others and for animals and life, so I think that’s really special to see,” said Nolan’s mom Corynne Bailey.
Nolan and his family hope that his compassion will help inspire someone else to make this a special Christmas for people or animals in need.
