Clemson’s archrival has landed a big-time quarterback by way of the transfer portal.
Ohio State transfer Air Noland committed to South Carolina on Monday.
Noland, a true freshman, has all four years of eligibility left.
The 6-foot-2, 192-pounder is a former five-star prospect and former Elite 11 finalist. According to Rivals, Noland was the No. 3 quarterback and No. 31 overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting class.
The College Park, Ga., native enrolled at Ohio State this past January and went through spring drills with the Buckeyes. He entered the portal on Dec. 16 after spending one season in Columbus.
Noland threw for over 10,000 yards and 100 touchdowns in high school, including 4,095 yards and 55 touchdowns as a junior in 2022. As a senior, the Langston Hughes product completed 67 percent of his passes for 2,140 yards and 22 touchdowns in 11 games.
In April 2023, Noland committed to Ohio State over schools such as Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Miami, Oregon and Texas A&M.
