Full list of cities where Starbucks staff are striking against the coffee executives

On Monday, Starbucks baristas staged a job walkout in major cities in Massachusetts, Texas, and Oregon, expanding the holiday strike to at least 11 states.

According to a statement by the union Starbucks Workers United, as of Sunday, the strike had caused “almost 50 stores nationwide” to close due to the absent employees .

“Walkouts are expected to continue surging through Christmas Eve. The final days before Christmas are traditionally one of Starbucks’ busiest customer traffic times of the year,” Starbucks Workers United said.

Workers United, a union representing 525 Starbucks stores, said baristas across the States launched a strike on Friday. However, the escalation on Monday was the latest expansion of a strike, which had grown each day since it began, the union said. The strike started when workers abruptly left their daily duties in Chicago , Los Angeles , and Seattle and has since expanded into Denver, Columbus, Ohio, and Philadelphia . The statement also listed New York City, Boston, Texas’s Dallas-Forth Worth area, and Portland, Oregon, as other locations where Starbucks staff were taking a stance. The union told CNN they estimate that the stop-work could reach hundreds of stores by Christmas Eve.
