Wood County pays $1.5 million to resolve ransomware attack

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WTVG) – Officials in Wood County said Monday the county negotiated and paid $1.5 million to resolve a ransomware incident. A statement from the Wood County Commissioners on Dec. 23 said the county is now in the process of restoring its systems. The commissioners said additional security measures have been implemented.
