Three people died of gunshot injuries in three different Stockton incidents in the last three days.
As of Monday, investigators were still trying to piece together what led up to the fatal shootings over the weekend.
The Stockton Police Department said no arrests in any of the recent homicide cases had been made. Police did not release information about possible motives or suspect descriptions in the cases.
Man shot and killed in north Stockton on Monday morning
An early morning shooting resulted in the death of a young man in north Stockton on Monday.
At about 3:50 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 6700 block of Mount Elbrus Way.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his late 20s suffering from a gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the man died at the scene, according to police.
The man’s identity hasn’t been released, pending notification of family by the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
His death marks the 50th homicide in Stockton in 2024, surpassing 2023’s total of 45 homicides and 2022’s total of 48 homicides .
