COLUMN: Time for new beginnings at Punta Gorda Chamber

It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing my resignation from the interim executive director position with the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce.

I am proud to have been part of this chamber. I have met so many great people and had the privilege of working with the chamber members, chamber board and community as a whole.

I feel this is the right decision to make. I have accepted a position with Florida Premier Contractors (www.fpcbuilds.com) as the marketing manager.

I am very proud of what we have been able to accomplish this year as a chamber. Some of these accomplishments include updating the chamber mission and vision statement, adding and restructuring our Partners in Action sponsors, modernizing software, increasing social media followers, rolling out 20th Anniversary Chamber member testimonial videos and hosting the 20th anniversary banquet celebration.

The chamber will be hiring a new executive director this month.

During this transition, the board has been doing a great job of stepping up and filling in where needed. A huge shout-out to our office manager, Diane Ford, who has stepped up and taken on many additional responsibilities and has done an incredible job.
