Loxley man killed in accident, Robertsdale man arrested after fleeing scene: ALEA

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A crash in Baldwin County resulted in the death of a Loxley man and the arrest of a Robertsdale man, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

According to ALEA, 52-year-old Eddie J. Walker Jr. was killed when the sedan he was riding in as a passenger was hit by an SUV. The sedan Walker was riding in overturned after the initial impact. Officials said that Walker, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The two-vehicle crash occurred around 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, on Alabama 59 near the 17-mile marker, which is about four miles south of Robertsdale.

ALEA officials said the driver of the vehicle Walker was riding in was injured and taken to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.

Corey Shane Mueller, 34, of Robertsdale, was driving the other vehicle, according to ALEA.

An ALEA spokesperson said Mueller fled the scene of the crash and was later located with the help of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
