“It’s not every day that you get pulled over by the police and end up with a coffee gift card instead of a ticket!” the Police Department posted on Instagram .

The gifts became available thanks to a recent donation of 150 $10 Starbucks cards from the Fullerton Police and Community Foundation, the post read.

In one video an officer tells a motorist that their tail light was out but then offers the driver a gift card.

The Police Department said it aimed to spread a little cheer while making the roads safer for everyone.

“Those who received the gift cards were pleasantly surprised by this kind gesture!” the post stated.
