BROOKSVILLE, Florida — A RAP House employee has been charged with three counts of sexual battery on a minor after allegedly engaging in sexual activities with a 15-year-old girl staying at the shelter, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.On December 19, 2024, detectives from the Pasco Sheriff’s Office responded to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office regarding a lewd and lascivious battery investigation. The victim, a 15-year-old girl residing at the RAP House in New Port Richey, reported that she had been befriended by Ryan Dunn, a 29-year-old employee of the shelter, since June. The RAP House serves runaway and at-risk youth aged 10 to 17.The victim stated that on December 12, 2024, Dunn picked her up from her Pasco County school and drove her to a Quality Inn in Brooksville, where he attempted to have sexual intercourse with her. The following day, Dunn allegedly picked her up again and drove her to the same hotel, where they engaged in sexual intercourse, according to the victim. On December 16, 2024, Dunn reportedly picked her up once more, and they engaged in sexual intercourse in a Walmart parking lot in Port Richey.Dunn was contacted by an unknown caller during the encounter, informing him that the victim had been reported missing by RAP House staff. He then dropped her off near her school, where law enforcement later found her walking back, according to the press release.Dunn initially denied any sexual activity when interviewed by Pasco Sheriff’s Office detectives on December 16, 2024. However, on December 19, 2024, he confessed to the offenses during a meeting with detectives from both agencies in Hernando County, where he resides. Dunn was subsequently charged with three counts of sexual battery on a child older than 12 but less than 18 by a person in familial or custodial authority.
