San Diego MTS increasing service for Holiday Bowl; Christmas schedule released

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego buses and Trolleys are increasing service for the highly anticipated Holiday Bowl taking place on Friday, and the MTS schedule for Christmas Day has been released, along with information on a promotion where you can bring a guest to ride for free with you over the holiday.

The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) announced this week it will be operating on a Sunday service schedule on Christmas Day, and its Friends Ride Free holiday promotion will also be in effect so passengers can bring a guest for free.

Matchup set for 2024 DIRECTV Holiday Bowl at Snapdragon Stadium

The 45th annual DIRECTV Holiday Bowl kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday. In the days leading up to the big game, there will be several events happening like the Snapdragon Bowl Bash, the Holiday Bowl Parade, the Game Day 5K Run/Walk, tailgate parties, and more.

Christmas Day service

On Christmas Day, MTS will be operating on a Sunday service schedule on Christmas Day.

All Trolley lines will be operating every 30 minutes. MTS announced there will be no service on Rapid Express Routes 280 or 290 and Rural Routes 888, 891, 892 and 894.
