Who remembers the days when New Jersey was really thought of as the Garden State? Not that we’re far removed from that today, but a lot has changed over the years. I myself grew up in Brick and have witnessed this transformation firsthand. I remember when I was just a kid in the early 1990s how rural the town once was. The Brick Plaza was mostly run down, and the ShopRite stood mainly alone.
